Review:
Whew, this was one hot book. Marooned is book two in the Wicked Missions series and I must say I am loving this series. I never thought I would be the type of person that fell in love with something Sci Fi but this story is more about the relationships between Matt, Drake and Betinsa than it is dealing with otherworldly characters. Don't get me wrong this story does not lack action in any way. In fact, get ready to go on a fast paced action filled ride because this book has it all.

Betinsa's character was one of my favorites because she is taken right out of her comfort zone and delves head first in one hot and steamy romance between two men. I enjoyed Matt's character in Locked In (book one) and was so glad to see that he got his own romance and with the lovely Betinsa. Matt made me laugh with the little jokes he would crack and no one would think it was funny. Don't worry Matt, I thought you were funny and laughed at every single joke. Drake's character was the typical alpha male. The tall good looking man that was hard as nails on the outside but all soft and mushy inside once it came to Betinsa. *dreamy sigh* I love Drake.

The plot line was fantastic and filled with action. Betinsa is from a culture where the woman is essentially the bread winner in the family. Her culture also expects each female to have two male soul mates, which works out fabulously for Matt, Drake and Betinsa. I can't give away too much of the action scenes but let me just say you don't want to miss the middle of the book and the furry little rat looking creatures. Especially Matt's reaction to them.

Like I said before, I really love this Wicked Missions series and can't wait to read Bounty which is book three. Luckily there are seven books so far in the series so I will always have another book to look forward to. I highly recommend Marooned even if you aren't a fan of alien beings. A fascinating read, Marooned will keep you on the edge of your seat and will certainly leave you satisfied.

True Colors by Joyce Lamb

First off, I'm just going to say that this series is definitely one of my favorites of the year. Joyce Lamb is an author whose books are on my automatic "to be read". I don't care what genre she writes, I will be a lifelong fan. I can identify with the characters, the writing style blows me away in every book and I always find myself thinking of her books long after they have been read.

Alex's character appealed to me immediately with her love of abused animals. It takes a special woman to be able to take care of rescue animals and the fact that she could relate better to the animals than to people, piqued my interest.

John Logan's character was oh so dreamy. Who wouldn't love a detective who is not afraid to put his life on the line for the woman he loves? Fighting his own demons, John has to find a way to come to terms with Alex's psychic ability.

Butch McGee was one insanely creepy character. A character I loved to hate. I found myself holding my breath through the scenes with this deranged killer. His character made this book a superb read as the entire time, I was trying to figure out his angle.

I love Anna Coreen, the lady with psychic abilities that helps the sisters through their self discovery moments. She has a strong presence through out the True books and it wouldn't be the same without her.

The plot in True Colors is gripping, hair- raising and I loved every minute of it. I could feel the hairs on the back of my neck standing up. A compelling page turner, this book has perfect pacing. The characters are meticulously developed and are easy to bond with. Each chapter leaves you hanging and I found myself reading into the wee hours of the morning just trying to see what happened next. I HIGHLY recommend True Colors to anyone who loves a solid, strong romantic suspense/thriller. Ms. Lamb is an outstanding writer and I am anxiously looking forward to reading True Shot, Sam's story.

Review:
Can a futuristic Sci-Fi with one head strong woman and two drool worthy men get any hotter than this? Personally, I'm not one to get into Sci-Fi's but I have to say, this is one series that I will follow closely. Loved it. The descriptions of the surroundings throughout the book helped me to paint a vivid picture of what life was like in the world of Leesa, Cain and Geoff. Leesa's character was a favorite of mine. She is everything I look for in a leading lady. She's independent, passionate and extremely stubborn. You know when you combine those three elements, there's going to be fireworks somewhere. I instantly fell in love with both Cain and Geoff. Each was vastly different from the other and together, they made one powerful team, both in and out of the bedroom. (My personal favorite was Cain, but shhhhh don't tell, I'm not supposed to play favorites). When Cain and Geoff let their feelings for Leesa be known, the heat level goes through the roof.

A fast paced, exciting plot kept me wondering what would happen next. I can't give away anything more than what was in the blurb but you will definitely want to see what happens beyond the blurb. A captivating read, I found I couldn't put this book down. I love a good mystery and although this is a shorter novel, I found it to be highly addictive. I read Locked In in a matter of hours which is the perfect length of book for me personally. Locked In is book one in the Wicked Missions series but can also be read as a standalone. I look forward to reading more from this author and especially this series. Now excuse me while I go read Marooned, book two.

Review
You know when you love a book so much, you just can't find the right words to do it justice? Well, that's exactly how I feel right now. It doesn't matter what I say about it, you just have to read it to enjoy it as much as I did.

The first book in the True trilogy starts out with some high powered action. Charlie was a character I fell in love with. She's smart, adventurous and not one to just stand aside when she sees something going wrong around her. Noah is that oh so sexy cop (although out of his jurisdiction) that is bound and determined to find the killer of his friend. All roads lead to Charlie when he finds out details of the hit and run but what neither is ready for is the instant chemistry. And my my my do these two spark when they are together.

True Vision is an extremely fast paced book that keeps you on the edge of your seat with an intense and gripping plot line. There is always something going on and when you throw in the paranormal element, this book just keeps getting hotter. The paranormal element Charlie acquires really makes you think about how she's going to get around it. I don't want to give away what it is because that was a really fun part to find out. As for secondary characters, some made me laugh and some made me want to hit the wall but all were essential to True Vision. The action scenes will blow your mind, and watch out for the more intimate scenes, there is an apparent upside to what's going on with Charlie you will enjoy. And I promise, you will LOVE it.

The second book in the series is True Colors and is Alex's story (available now) and finally the third book in the series is True Shot which is Sam's story and is coming in December. You bet I'd be willing to stand in line a really long time for this final story.

Joyce Lamb is one of those authors who is just blessed with the talent of writing an intriguing romantic suspense book. I don't think she could write a book I didn't like if she tried. I was first introduced to her through Cold Midnight and fell in love with her writing style. In my opinion, Ms. Lamb has raised the bar when it comes to True Vision. This is one exceptional read you don't want to miss, I highly recommend it. I am now addicted to anything Joyce Lamb!

Harmonica Joe's Reluctant Bride by Sarah J. McNeal

I often sit here and think how I would handle living in a different time period. When Harmonica Joe's Reluctant Bride fell into my hands, I instantly fell in love with the book. I was able to take a trip through time which I will remember for a long time to come. As with any time travel book, I usually always ask myself if something from the past could hinder something in future. I feel as though I need to pay close attention and try to keep up with what is about to happen. This book was the polar opposite for me. I was so engrossed in the book, I didn't have think about what may happen, I simply sat back and let this book sweep me away.

Lola is a feisty woman who is hell bent on proving to herself and others that she will not end up like her mother. As an independent woman living in the 21st century, Lola has goals to become a lawyer so people will look up to her and is finally on her way to making her dreams come true. Joe lives in the 20th century, faces turmoil of his own and feels as though he needs to live a solitary life. Now imagine how you would react to being transported from the 21st to the 20th century without an inkling of how it happened. On top of that, you find yourself in the middle of your own marriage to a man you don't even know. This is exactly what happened to Lola. From the moment Lola and Joe lay eyes on one another the sparks fly in more ways than one. Each is drawn to the other but at the same time are exasperated with one another. Their relationship throughout the book is enchanting, humorous, spicy and genuine. These two really touched my heart.

Solid secondary characters like Banjo (a young man who has been on his own since he was about ten) and Argos (Joe's faithful canine) really brought a strong familial feel to the book. Each played an important part as a protector who would lay down their lives for those they held close.

Ms. McNeal is a new author to me and I found Harmonica Joe's Reluctant Bride to be a deeply sensual yet very touching read. I instantly fell in love with the writing style and I just have to say Ms. McNeal has a gift of writing with great humor, witty dialogue and superb imagery.

This book has become a new favorite of mine and I know you will fall in love with it as well. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves time travel, suspense, romance and steamy love scenes. You don't want to miss this book.

Deliberation Plantation by Destiny Blaine

Review:
Oh my, it is definitely hot in here. Whew hold on (turning the A/C on). Anyone who knows me, knows how much I love Destiny Blaine's writing. Just about every book I've reviewed for her has absolutely floored me because it is better than the one before it. Deliberation Plantation is no different. In this book, Ms. Blaine has kicked the erotica up not just one notch but two! This is definitely one steaming hot book with a strong reliance on sex BUT the part that gets me every time is that the heroine is never the person you think would be good in a relationship. She's always the one who has made it through life just coping and making the best of her situations. The hero's? They just keep getting hotter. They are men with a past. Hard bodied and hardened by society, these men, in one way or another, make a connection to the heroine. I don't mean just a casual connection, I mean the sweep you off your feet and steal your heart kind of romance we all want.

Let's get to the characters shall we? Our heroine, Marcy, is one tough cookie used to calling the shots. Blindsided by the fact that these men are not men to be told what to do but rather expect the opposite, Marcy is forced to face her fears of becoming a sub. She's a strong character both intellectually and emotionally. She faces the moment of do or die. Which will she choose? Cort (who is my personal favorite), Landon, Mason and Kemper all have different qualities and when combined, present everything Marcy could ever want. Not that one man alone isn't enough, but every girl needs four men adoring her 24/7 right?

The suspense throughout the story kept me on my toes and I simply fell in love with it and couldn't put this book down. Without giving anything away, I'll just say that the action is dangerous and dramatic. The plot is realistic and you feel as though you are one of the characters in the book.

Destiny Blaine writes what most of us fantasize about and weaves it with thrilling suspense like no other. As an added bonus, I'll tell you that this book is a part of a series. The first book, Domination Plantation is just as hot as Deliberation Plantation. This is one series that will leave you breathless.

Trust in the Lawe by Stacey Joy Netzel

Review:
I can't say enough about these characters. Colton Lawe is just "to die for"! With lethal good looks and a high regard for the relationships of his friends and family, Colton is everything I could ever ask for in a hero. He's tall, gorgeous and just all around yummy. Kendra's character was very intriguing and anything but typical. She's rich but finds that money alone can not make her happy, she needs to contribute to society in some way. She is fiercely loyal of her little brother Noah. She's petite, beautiful, and is just an all around caring woman. Put these two together and you have sparks flying all over the place. The way Kenra and Colton play off each other made me laugh, cry and sometimes both at the same time! The added characters of Brittany, Joel and Noah really tied the bonds of family into this book in a fascinating and believeable way.

Trust in the Lawe was truly one of the best books I have read this year. It's fun, suspenseful, filled with misunderstanding and characters that you will fall in love with. The plot line was tight, very well crafted and every question I may have had throughout the book was answered. Ms. Netzel really brought the playful side of Colton out when Noah and his cousin tried to play pranks on him. Colton is never the one to run from a prank.

I have a great respect for Stacey Joy Netzel and the way she can write a romantic story with sizzle and spice that kept me absolutely addicted. I had never read any of Stacy Joy Netzel's work before but was very intrigued by the blurb of this book. From the moment I started reading, it was as though my real life just floated away and I was drawn into Trust in the Lawe. Honestly, you won't be able to put this book down. If you are not a Stacey Joy Netzel fan yet, just pick up this book and you will find you want to read all of her books. To sum it all up, Outstanding book, not to be missed. I HIGHLY recommend this book.

Ring of Lies by Victoria Howard

Review:
Ring of Lies was such a fun book to read while taking a little time for "me". Grace was an intriguing character and is faced with an incomprehensible loss. She's facing not only the loss of her husband but everything she's ever known to be true. Her entire marriage was a deception. She suffered at the hands of her husband both mentally as well as emotionally. As the book progresses, Grace begins to find out who she really is. This was one element of Grace's character that impressed me because she was not the type of woman to just lie back and let life steal her soul and will to live.

I fell in love with Jack's character immediately. His loyalty to his baby melted my heart and the scenes where he took care of her really bonded me with his character. I love to see the softer side of my hero. His character was flawed which made him all the more relatable to me. The sexual tension between Grace and Jack is palpable. Sparks flew from the moment they met. I enjoyed that this book didn't rely heavily on the romance but rather on the suspense of the book. What draws the reader in is the constant push and pull between Jack and Grace. They want a relationship but, for one or the other, circumstances don't allow it.

What keeps the reader hooked is the suspense, which this book did not lack in the least. Ring of Lies was a fast paced, action packed book that started out with intriguing scenes and continued throughout the book. With plenty of villains to choose from, you won't guess until the last part of the book who is really behind everything. I won't give anything away but I will say that things aren't always as they seem.

Ms. Howard has done an amazing job of writing in a way that the reader can relate to. She has a knack for knowing what the reader craves and then delivering in such a satisfying way that the reader can't possibly put the book down. Bottom line, you GOTTA read this book, it's not one to be missed.

A cross between ER and NYPD Blue, Nerves of Steel is, hands down, one of the best Medical romances I have read to date. Cassandra Hart's character deals with more than just typical drug overdoses, she's dealing with an unstable ex and his vindictive family as well. Throw in drug dealers and her life gets a little bit messy. Enter Detective Mickey Drake. The chemistry between Cassie and Drake is electrifying and not just at certain moments, the emotional pull continues throughout the book. The boundaries Drake and Cassie try not to cross keeps the sensual tension alive and oh how I loved the tension. Just small things made my heart melt, like when he was watching her from afar and was admiring Cassie's dedication to her job. I formed a bond with Cassie because she wasn't your typical girlie girl. She had to work for what she wanted and her dedication to her patients was what came first. The fact that the woman could kick butt and take names was what clinched it for me. She's everything I want in my heroine.

Drake's character wasn't without his own faults, yet his vulnerabilities are what made his character so believable. It takes a special kind of woman who is willing to look beyond the way he used to behave and love the man he is now. Drake was a dangerously attractive detective who was one of the best at his job, even though he had been skating on thin ice with his department. My Review:

My first though on this book was "If I get the opportunity to push the sale of any book, this is the book I would choose, for the simple fact that we need to be educated in cyber terrorism." A thought provoking thriller, Zero Day is by far one of the most exciting yet terrifying books I have ever read. In our generation, there is no where you can look that is not controlled by computers in some capacity. Just think about it for a minute. Online banking, your power at home, the airplane that you take to reach your destination and even your check out at the grocery store, these are all reliant on computers. Now try to imagine a virus attacking any one of those industries and your world would be turned upside down. Zero Day is a book that addresses those issues and expounds on that by painting a vivid picture of what can happen should one of these industries come under attack. The public needs to become educated and aware of the fact that cyber terrorism does exist and CAN happen to them.

I am currently a programming student in college and one of the areas we study is internet security. Just about everything we studied in class is included in this book. I've told my instructors that this book needs to be required reading because it not only shows you the magnitude of destruction that viruses can cause but it helped me to better understand what I learned in class. When I read this book, it was almost as though it were in two parts. The first part of the book concentrated on the technical computer side and the second part where most of the action was found in the book. Believe me when I tell you that there is a lot of action throughout the book and that it was nearly impossible to put this book down.

I felt a connection right away with Jeff Aiken's character. Previously working with the government, Jeff tries to bring attention to the links between all the disasters taking place and the recent virus outbreaks. He's met with red tape throughout the book and I couldn't help but feel helpless right along with him. Jeff has closed himself off from forming relationships with anyone and finds himself attracted to Daryl, his female counterpart who happens to work for the government. Watching Jeff and Daryl work side by side while their relationship grows stronger, was a breath of fresh air. I found myself rooting for their relationship to flourish beyond friendship. While the focus stays on cyber terrorism, romance between these two is intricately woven into the story. There are some surprises with Jeff's co-workers that you won't see coming. I loved to be shocked and Mr. Russinovich does just that very well I might add. The action in this book is remarkable. Painting vivid pictures of the level of greed humans go to, the reader is transported into a very dark world.

Zero Day is the debut novel for author Mark Russinovich who is a cyber security expert with Microsoft. A well researched and highly developed book, Zero Day is a must read for everyone who is dependent on the internet in any form. The book does get technical quite often but Russinovich does an excellent job of explaining what he's talking about. Everyone needs to be made aware of the potential of a threat of global proportions and even though this is a fictional story, it can easily become reality. Zero Day is an addictive read that will stay with you for a long time to come. It is a MUST READ!

Review:

Every once in a while you get a book that really touches your heart. Hide and Seek was that book for me. Although the relationship between Rob and Maddie wasn't perfect, it was a moving and powerful read. Maddie was a strong and confident woman who did what she needed to do in order to take care of her life. This is the part where it gets hard not to throw a spoiler in. From the moment that Maddie leaves her former life, the plot line takes off. There are so many twists and turns and I was up late into the night just waiting to see what happened next. Rob and Maddie had intense feelings of love but of course there was conflict in the form of an unpleasant ex and misunderstandings. Sophie's character gripped my heart and didn't let go. She seemed so grown up for her age and because of that, some of her reactions just made me laugh out loud.

Rob's character had me scratching my head sometimes, but watching him grow into the man he was meant to be made it all worthwhile.

Ms. Hill is one of my favorite authors and I'm reminded of that each time I read one of her books. She has a talent for taking the reader on a journey with unforgettable characters while developing a plot line that is highly entertaining. Hide and Seek is a very addicting read and I strongly urge you to pick it up the minute you get the chance.
